Internship/Apprenticeship Program

White Oak Pastures, a model of the highest standards of animal welfare, holistic farm management, and regenerative agriculture, is now offering a Farm Internship / Apprenticeship Program that is among one of the most comprehensive in the country. The scale, diversity, and vertical integration of this farm makes this unique training experience unlike many traditional farm internship programs.

White Oak Pastures Internship / Apprenticeship program will have 4 classes divided into 12-week sessions: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior.

Carpentry / Building Maintenance

Applicant will be responsible for the maintenance of farm buildings and other carpentry projects. Plumbing experience and ability to use woodworking tools is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to correctly use and read a tape measure.
  • Must understand the basics of framing and structural integrity.
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 90lbs.
  • Must be able to walk or stand all day.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be available to work on weekends or late nights as needed.

Fencing/ Pasture Maintenance:

Applicant will build H-braces, run wire and field fences, install gates, and repair existing fence lines. The ability to run a skid steer is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 90 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk or stand all day.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be responsible with tools and equipment.
  • Must be available to work on weekends or late nights as needed.

Commissary:

Requirements:

  • Must be able to read & write
  • Hardworking
  • Able to lift 50lbs.+
  • Able follow recipes
  • Able to work Monday - Friday

Experienced Cook (Part-Time):

Applicant must be knowledgeable in Food Safety- including proper food temperatures, and be able to work in a fast-paced and hot environment. Must be available to work every other weekend. Serv-Safe certification is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Will be required to work standing up.
  • May be required to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must be able to work weekends when needed.
  • Must be able to work on a team.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
