"Look deep into Nature, and then you will understand everything better." -Albert Einstein.

Does your team need to step away from the office and into a new environment for fresh air and ideas? Do you need an opportunity to reignite the flame of motivation, unity and collaboration? Downtown hotels and oversized meeting rooms in crowded cities are out and Nature is in. WhiteOak Pastures is a perfect place to digitally detox and renew your individual and collaborative purpose. Our Event Center, located in Bluffton, Georgia (population 103), is an ideal place to brainstorm and team build for positive workplace change. While Bluffton might be hard to get to, we promise you won’t want to leave.

Our 29’ by 39’ space is a retired rural Church- it’s seen the good, bad and ugly, but stood as a beacon of hope for over 2 centuries. The sanctuary has been remodeled, but still has the original hardwood floors and overhead lights. It’s temperature controlled, has fast internet, and great cell phone connectivity. And, our farm amenities listed below provide just the right amount of distraction. From farm tours to taking a class with our beekeeper, we have something everyone can enjoy in their break time.

• Beekeeping
We promise a memorable afternoon in addition to insights into honey harvesting and the delicate craft of keeping bees without chemical inputs or aids. There will be classroom time as well as interactive time at the hives.

You will not want to miss this exceptional, informative experience! Whether you have bees already, want bees, or simply care about our fragile pollinator populations, this workshop will be time well spent. If you own beekeeping suits and hats, please feel free to bring them! If not, no worries. Please bring thick clothing that you will be comfortable wearing around bees.

• Gardening
Often overlooked, our garden produces nearly year-round for our value-added commissary products and farm-to-table restaurant. From our pickles and jams to our table-top floral arrangements to the side dishes served in our restaurant– our garden is the source of it all! Visit us and spend a few hours with our garden team to see how we utilize chemical-free methods ingrowing our plants! Participants will be able to pick in season produce to sample and take home.

• Pastured Rabbits
Did you know that rabbit manure is the best for vegetable gardening? As a wonderful organic fertilizer not conducive to the microbes that cause illness in humans, rabbit manure is extra valuable when you know how they are raised. Whether you grow them as pets, for their rich fertilizer, or meat, there are some specifics that we want to share! Join us to learn how we developed our pastured rabbit production system and how we utilize them in our vegetable production to heal the soil. This workshop will give you a look into raising and breeding in a hybrid pasture model, perfect for homesteaders or enthusiasts looking to raise rabbits for meat.

• Tallow
Beef fat is the new oil! At White Oak Pastures, we are aiming to help conquer the collective fear of fat and share what we’ve learned about this versatile wonder product. Join us for a few hours of fat – literally! We will explore how tallow is rendered every day at White Oak Pastures, using tallow in cooking, and how to create tallow products such as soaps, candles, body washes, etc. Participants will be able to make their own tallow candle to bring home.

• Leather Working
White Oak Pastures is proud to be a zero-waste facility. Spend a few hours with your team learning about how hides from our cattle get turned into many leather products in our Makerspace. You will get the opportunity to make your own Koozie with a custom design!
