White Oak Pastures Store Associate
Location: Upper West Market (Collier Road area), Atlanta, GA
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Store Associate to support daily operations at our market stall in the new Upper West Market venue. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with customers, takes pride in maintaining an organized retail space, and has a passion for high-quality, responsibly sourced food.
You will be responsible for opening and closing the stall, managing inventory, maintaining merchandising standards, and delivering an excellent customer experience. Two to five days at the farm, in Bluffton, GA, may be required for on-boarding.
Key Responsibilities
Store Opening & Closing
- Open and prepare the stall for daily operations (setup displays, ensure cleanliness, restock products)
- Perform cash handling procedures, including setting up and reconciling registers
- Follow established closing procedures, including cleaning, securing inventory, and reporting sales
- Ensure all safety, sanitation, and operational standards are consistently met
Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance about products
- Educate customers on White Oak Pastures offerings, including sourcing, sustainability, and product use
- Process transactions accurately using POS systems
- Handle customer questions, concerns, and returns professionally
Stocking & Inventory Management
- Receive and organize incoming inventory
- Monitor stock levels and communicate reordering needs
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with periodic counts
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of perishable goods (FIFO principles)
Merchandising & Store Presentation
- Maintain visually appealing and well-organized product displays
- Ensure pricing and signage are accurate and up to date
- Keep the stall clean, sanitary, and inviting at all times
Qualifications
- Previous retail experience required; experience in food, grocery, or specialty food retail strongly preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of food handling and safety practices (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Comfortable handling cash and using POS systems
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Preferred Attributes
- Interest in sustainable agriculture, local food systems, or farm-to-table products
- Knowledgeable about cooking/grilling meat
- Experience working in markets, small-format retail, or food stalls
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 30–40 lbs
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced market environment
Schedule
- Flexible availability, including weekends
